We’re thrilled to announce that our Fall 2023 release of Bommer for Fusion 360 is now live! This update includes a couple of exciting new features that our users have been eagerly requesting for some time now, and focuses on enhancing Bommer’s performance for larger and more demanding projects in Fusion 360. This update also includes streamlining our user registration process to minimize time spent dealing with “administrivia” when trying out Bommer (because, let’s be honest, that’s why you’re here in the first place).
For a detailed breakdown, check out our version release notes here. Here, we want to give you a sneak peek at some of the exciting new features.
Fusion 360 appearance
This feature has been years in the making. Capturing and integrating the Fusion 360 appearance properties was a complex challenge that we've now successfully overcome. You can delve deeper into this feature, or read more about how it differs from physical material. Alternatively, download the latest Bommer software, load up a model, add this property to your custom BOM, and see the results for yourself!
Hierarchical drawing tables
Since launching Bommer for the Fusion 360 drawing environment, our goal has been to offer unparalleled control over how you define your drawing tables. Our users have expressed their appreciation for this fine-grained control over parts and properties in their tables, especially in assembly drawing contexts. Now, it’s time to take a step further with our new Flatten toggle feature. You can read more about it here, but in a nutshell this feature lets you control the structure of your drawing tables, making it possible to add hierarchical Bommer bills of materials to your drawing sheets. This seemingly small switch opens up significant workflow opportunities in Fusion 360 drawings, particularly for electronics projects or others with many reused components.
